The ultimate purpose of releasing this music is to lessen suffering through spread of the teachings of the Buddha (the Dhamma).

Consequently it is hoped that these songs will be widely distributed and made use of in various ways:

However, making money from the songs would speed development of the project,
and priced items sometimes move better than free ones.

So the Dhammapada Songs material is travelling a middle way between freedom and control.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The songs, packaging, websites, publications, performances and other copyrightable elements
associated with the Dhammapada Songs project
were created by Richard Stark Ferriss and are copyright 2010 by Richard Stark Ferriss.
However, non-commercial and limited-commercial use of the material is encouraged.
