The ultimate purpose of releasing this music is to lessen suffering through spread of the teachings of the Buddha (the Dhamma).

Audio - Copying: Anyone is free to make copies of the music as long as they don't try to sell those copies.
Other Non-Commercial Uses: Others may remix, tweak, and build upon this work non-commercially and without payment of royalties, as long as they credit R Ferriss and license their new creations under the identical terms. People can download and redistribute this work, and they can also translate, make remixes, and produce new stories based on this work. However, since all new work will carry the same license, any derivatives will also be non-commercial in nature: freely copyable and not to be sold. (This non-commercial license is adapted from the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-Share Alike license (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/).)
So: You can copy or modify as long as you credit the source and you don't try to sell what you produced (or something that it's a part of). If you want to sell something, you need to contact the copyright holder about a specific license.
Audio - Commercial versions: People can record their own versions of Thousands or We are What We Think, or add their vocals to the instrumental tracks on the EP. Either way, no royalties will be charged for the first one thousand published copies (hardcopies or downloads) provided that the copyright holder is notified of the publication of the recordings (email@example.com), and R Ferriss is credited. For over one thousand copies, standard royalties will be charged.
Video: The recordings and/or songs may be used in original YouTube videos without charge as long as the comments section or the start of the video includes a link for purchasing the Dhammapada Songs version of the song on iTunes.
Synchronization: All other uses of the songs, such as movies and TV, are subject to negotiation -- please inquire (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Translation: Commercial translations into other languages are most welcome, but must be approved by the copyright holder -- please inquire (email@example.com).
Print publication: As long as a clear copyright notice is included, printing of the song lyrics for free distribution use is encouraged. Commercial prinitng of lyrics and/ or music is subject to royalties. The copyright holder plans to issue sheet music editions of the songs in the near future.
